In the Post-Crisis DC Universe, Thomas Wayne Jr. Like the rest of his world though, this incarnation of Owlman was destroyed when the Anti-Monitor began wiping out realities across the multiverse in Crisis on Infinite Earths by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez. Owlman and his allies on the Crime Syndicate were some of the most powerful figures in their world, frequently doing battle with the heroic Alexander Luthor and facing off with the Justice League of Earth-One and the Justice Society of Earth-Two, which transformed him into the conqueror Batman never could be. On top of his years of physical and mental training, Owlman also was born with low-level mental abilities. While his true origins were never revealed, Owlman was a clear villainous stand-in for Batman.

Aligning herself with Ultraman - who possesses all of Superman's strength but none of his heart - goes along with Amanda Waller's ultimate plans, as hinted at in the two-part series Future State: Suicide Squad, released in January 2021.
They are composed of Ultraman, Owl Man, Superwoman, Johnny Quick and Power Ring - all characters who act as twisted versions of their Justice League counterparts. The Crime Syndicate of America first made its modern appearance in 2013's Justice League #23. The brooding assassin has instead transported Owlman's body to a secret Gotham City facility, where the remnants of a Task Force X team opposing Waller's plans intend to use the Earth-3 villain for their secret purposes. Despite Owlman seemingly being defeated in a manner reminiscent of the classic '90s Batman saga " Knightfall," which saw Bruce Wayne similarly hurt by Bane, Suicide Squad #13 reveals that Talon pulled his attack at the last moment.
